Antikvity Praha’s next auction includes a selection of fine arms and armour. The most significant lot in the sale is a fine 16G shotgun by Gustav Fukerts presented to empower Framz Joseph 1st if Austria.  In near mint condition the self cocking side-lock is extensively engraves and embellished with gold and bears the monogram FJI for the emperor. Cased, it carries and estimate of 100,000-150,000 euro.

Also offered is a Russian shashka  model 1881/1909 with the order of St Anna, a fine Ottoman flintlock rifle in the European manner and several highly decorative hunting swords with blue and gold blades. Further lots include a Kuchenreuter flintlock rifle,  a cased pair of Holland & Holland shotguns, cased underhammer pistols by Cessier, an Apache knuckle duster knife revolver, several knives including a navaja and a south German or Swiss sabre circa 1600.

The Swiss Auction Center fall antique arms sale is being held 26th. The sale includes, antique weapons and many scarce and unique objects at reasonable starting prices. Among the antique pistol highlights are an English breech loading Fergusson/Chaumett type flintlock pistol by Jover, (start price: Fr. 3,000.00), a rare needle-fire pistol by Dreyse & Collebusch, pictured, (start price: Fr. 2,500.00), and a large collection of early Swiss Ordnance flintlock and percussion arms.

AUCTIONS IMPERIAL WINTER SALE, NOVEMBER 19TH

The catalog for Auction imperial’s November sale includes rare Ottoman and Indo Persian arms that are seldom encountered as well as a wide variety of lots from other historical and cultural contexts. . Among the rarer forms of sword offered  in the sale is an ottoman sabre dating to the 15th century, two examples of which belonging to Mehmet the Conqueror (1432-1481,) are  in the Topaki Palace Collection. It carries an estimate of $10,000-15,000.
 
 Pictured is a Russian presentation sword with Kubachi workmanship in steel and gold. The eagle pommel is set with garnet eyes and the blade is etched with H II for Tsar Nikolai (r. 1894-1917). Other swords  include a Mughal shamshir with horsehead hilt ex Robert Hales collection and  a mid 19th century Qajar execution sword. Amour in the sale includes a Hyderabad cuirass and among the guns are a fine massive Mughal torador and a fine Greek kompoura pistol.

San Giorgio Auction House are holding their next auction on November 11th .  Among the finer lots are a rare Austrian frontier guard carbine (2500-3000-Euro), and a good Russian Shaska (2000-2500 Euro). Also offered is a fine embossed parade morion and a schiovona sword C1700.

There are many flintlock and percussion pistols, revolvers and edged weapons in the sale as well as uniform pieces, headgear, polearms, stonebows and crossbows. Longarms in the sale include percussion sporting, target and military guns and in the selction of pistols are British Military, Ottoman and Italian examples.

HERMANN HISTORICA'S FALL SALES, ARMS, ARMOUR & HISTORICAL COLLECTIBLES, OCT 24TH - NOV 5TH

Hermann Historica ‘s Fall sale includes five catalogues which span millennia of military and political history. Among the five sales are days dedicated to antiquities, antique and modern firearms, historical collectibles to 1918, German historical collectibles post 1918 and this year, a special catalogue for Wehrmacht technical equipment.

One of the more visually dramatic lots on antique arms is the combination Wheelock axe, made in Nuremberg circa 1580. It has a starting price of 28000 Euro. Other antique arms offered include a flintlock boar hunting carbine circa 1740 for Carl VII, a cased pair of percussion shotguns for the Duke of Cambridge, a fine stonebow dated 1689, a two shot all steel wheellock pistol and a three shot wheelock carbine.

Japanese swords and amour are well represented as are European and indo Persian edged weapons. Modern Guns include a Mauser C96 carbine and several fine drillings. Clickon the image for a link to the catalogues.



RARE FIREARMS AT SWISS TACTICAL CENTER AUCTION, Oct 22nd

After a  successful Spring auction in which both Swiss and world records were achieved; Swiss Tactical Center Auctions  is offering further sought-after firearms at their upcoming October 22nd Modern Weapons Sale.  Among the highlights are a very rare SIG P210-8, a number of rare Swiss Ordnance revolver including prototypes, pictured, and a seldom seen Swiss "Kurzgewehr" (Short Rifle) Mod.1898/1900. The sale includes more than 600 objects and also contains a number of contemporary and moderately estimated firearms, as well as weapons literature, and militaria.  The sale is on liveauctioneers. Auktionsverk’s online miltaria sale includes arms from a wide variety of nations and cultural contexts. Swedish, British, American, Indo-Persian, Japanese, and Ottoman arms are among those offered. Pictured is a 16th century two handed sword with Passau wolf and orb mark.  Other swords include a jewel encrusted shamshir, Swedish cavalry swords and a French naval cutlass.
           
Several pairs of flintlock and percussion pistols are offered among them a silver mounted pair of brass barrel pistols by Nicholson London as well as Swedish examples and single Ottoman and American examples. A Wheelock pistol with inlay will also cross the block.  The sale also includes modern custom knives, defensive armour, military headgear and cannon.

San Giorgio’s October online sale includes many affordable lots. Among the British flintlock pistols are a pair of martial style pistols by Forrest, as well as a ducksfoot 4 barreled example  by Henley and a blunderbuss pistol with foldout bayonet by Blanch.  Percussion arms include antique Colt and Remington revolvers.  In the selection of antique military long arms are a British  3rd brown bess in super condition and a tower percussion carbine also in prime state.  A selection of flintlock tinderlighters is also included.

In addition to firearms there are many polearms in the sale as well as a rake elephant goad, Ankus. Edged weapons offered include a Polish karablela and a hussars sabre and a selection of military sword and daggers..

Anthony Cribbs’ sale on October 4th includes some very rare Russian lots among them the pictured pair of 18th  C. silver mounted holster pistols with Cyrillic script. Also offered is a fine Tule sword with silver gilt mounts and trophy blade.

Other desirable lots in in the catalogue are a Prosser  sabre for the Duke of Cumberland, an English 17th century dish hilted rapier, a good mortuary sword, several fine bowies,  Scottish swords and dirks, a duckfoot pistol and a secret skull cap. 



JAMES JULIA'S SPECTACULAR FALL FIREARMS SALE OCT 4-7TH

James Julia's fall auction includes superb examples of the most desirable firearms. Pictured is one of them, an 1866 Winchester with masterpiece engraving by Conrad Ulrich.  It carries and estimate of $250,000 to $500,000.  Many prominent collections are in tow thousand lots offered. Spectacular lots include a naval Gatling gun, Annie Oakley’s shotgun,  and a Wheelock made for royalty as well as superb collections of Lugers, Colts and Sporting doubles.

Other lots offered include the  Carmen Gianforte collection of Reid Knuckleduster pistols, guns from the Robert Cox collection of Colt House pistols, many with rare DeGress grips, Henry Derringer dueling pistols, a unique Warner brass fame carbine, Winchester advertising, a full auto FN Mini-Mi, 19th century American Indian dag knives, and a fabulous collection of schuetzen  rifles.
